James Willetts
James Willetts was born and raised in Camden, SC and graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a BM focusing on Music Production & Engineering. James moved to the San Francisco Bay Area immediately following his graduation in 2000 and spent almost every day of his residency there at the prestigious Fantasy Studios, during all three of its incarnations under the ownership of Fantasy Records, Concord Records, and Wareham Development. He is experienced in Jazz, Gospel, Rock, Pop, Classical, New Age, and World Music recording, as well as Film and Video Game Post-Production. James has also been a musician all of his life and, being an active member of several musical outfits in San Francisco, Boston, and beyond, he has honed his proficiency in his skills from both sides of the glass.

At Fantasy Studios James has worked with such artists as Carlos Santana, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, Steve Smith, Wyclef, Gary Burton, Christian Scott, Taylor Eigsti, Josh Groban, LadySmith Black Mombasa, Poncho Sanchez, Elisa, Vanessa Carlton, Hammer, Tracy Chapman, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, and Kevin Kern. During his recent and so-far brief residency Sanctum Sound, James has worked with Ma'ayan Castel, Steve Catizone, Leo Mellace & Charles Haynes, and has recorded several voiceover projects, including character voices for an upcoming PBS children's program. Re-release credits include a Jerry Garcia Band posthumous boxed-set & remixes of Creedence Clearwater Revival for Guitar Hero. Film credits as Foley Recordist include Jarhead, K19: The Widowmaker, Suriyothai, The Village, Twisted, Maid in Manhattan, The Wild, An Unfinished Life, Swimfan, Duma, Art School Confidential, The Singing Detective, The United States of Leland, and Wicker Park. Credits as ADR Recordist include Breaking and Entering, Alias (TV series), Lost (TV series), The Wild, Duma, Art School Confidential, and MageKnight: The Apocalypse (Video Game).
