Sanctum recently started writing with musician and actress Lauren Mayhew. Lauren was signed to Epic Records with her pop quartet, P.Y.T., and can be seen in hit TV shows and films like ; American Pie Presents Band Camp, CSI and Law and Order. Memorial Day Jam W/ Wyclef Jean

Long time friend of Sanctum producer Leo Mellace was in New York this weekend with recording artist Ma’ayan Castel for a series of label showcases when he dropped by an old friend’s studio for a impromptu jam. Check Wyclef’s blog for more info.

Sanctum / SonicBids Contest

Sanctum Sound has teamed with Producers/Songwriters Leo Mellace and Steve Catizone and SonicBids to offer a unique opportunity for performers and songwriters. Leo Mellace and Steve Catizone are taking submissions to find the best unsigned act’s out there. They’ve worked with many different artists and writers in their 10-year production history including : Wyclef Jean, Gary Cherone (Extreme, Van Halen), JoJo, Earth Wind and Fire, Ludacris, New Kids On The Block, Mario, T-Pain and Sully Erna of Godsmack.

The pair will choose a winner, who will be flown out to Sanctum LA Recording Studio to develop and produce 3 songs, complete with session players, mixing and mastering provided. Airfare stipend will be up to $1,000 and is courtesy of Sonicbids.

The selected artist will collaborate with writers who have worked with Nick Lachey, Macy Grey and P. Diddy among many others.

Additionally, there will be 8 runner-ups, who will receive prizes, courtesy of Ableton:

First runner-up: Ableton Suite 8 ($849 value)

Second runner-up: Ableton Live 8 ($549 value)

Third runner-up: Ableton Live 7 LE ($199 value)

Five honorable mentions: Ableton laptop bagsArtists that submit can be any genre and from anywhere in the world. The deadline for this gig is June 15 Deadline. With the production starting late June / early July.
